In coco peat contains two substances that greatly affect the roots when grown with coir substrates: tannin (a substance found in tea, coco peat, … soluble in water) and salinity (salt). These two ingredients turn off all the suction – inhalation of the roots, difficult to decompose. If used directly, it will cause stunting, growth retardation or plant poisoning leading to plant death. Therefore, to achieve high efficiency when using, customers need to pay attention to buy the right type that has been carefully processed to be effective when using.

Coconut peat has a neutral pH

With a pH of approximately 5.8 – 6.8, coir is slightly alkaline, which means no additional product is needed to neutralize the soil. This level of acidity is also considered perfect for releasing nutrients slowly.
