Characteristics of anthracite coal:
Physical properties: coal has a relatively high strength, is brittle, hard, and is less likely to be broken when transported
Chemical properties: coal is less susceptible to changes and the impact of some chemicals. Due to the hollow structure, the use of anthracite coal is often used to filter alum water, well water, and industrial wastewater.
Charcoal appearance is black, metallic (sometimes multicolored due to light reflection)
Anthracite coal is difficult to burn, does not self-ignite, so it can keep a large volume for a long time
The ability to generate heat is many times greater than other coal lines
Applications: Fired anthracite is commonly used as a reactant in furnaces and blast furnaces in steel mills, and in the production of carbon blocks and pastes. It is also used to replace calcined petroleum coke in specific applications in the manufacture of ductile and gray irons. Anthracite is mainly used in electric steel furnaces, water purification, rust removal in shipbuilding and carbon materials production. In addition, it is also used in cement production, but this type of coal has a high calorific value (can be up to 6900-7300 kcal/kg) but has a very low flammability content so it is difficult to ignite. For use as fuel in cement production, anthracite coal must be finely crushed with a sieve clearance of 0.09 mm to be used.
