Application
Coke is used to melt cast iron as well as high quality smokeless fuel, as a reducing agent in metallurgical technologies from iron ore, lapping agents in aggregate. Coke is also used as a fuel in the manufacture of cast iron or common uses, in the chemical industries and metallurgy of iron alloys (special types of coke). Blast furnace coke should have a size of not less than 25–40 mm with the number of coke smaller than 25 mm and greater than 80 mm not exceeding 3%. Coke used to cast iron in size must not be smaller than blast furnace coke, the lumps in this case are not smaller than 60–80 mm. The main difference between a blast furnace cup and a cast cup is a smaller sulfur content, which should not exceed 1% (in a blast furnace cup it may be up to 2%). In the metallurgy industry of iron alloys, small lumps of coke are used (for example, 10–25 mm lumps), in this case one needs a quick reaction rate rather than a content. impurities in coke.
